Carolyne Stossel’s filmmaking career began after studying at world-class acting schools in New York and LA. Soon after, Stossel started her own production company in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she wrote, produced and directed her first short film, “Pizza 2-for-1”. A milestone for Stossel, “Pizza 2-for-1” marked not only the first time she wrote, produced or directed a film, but also the first time she had actually been on a movie set. The film went on to place as a finalist in the Chicago International Film Festival and received video distribution deals in both Canada and the United States.

Her next writing/producing/directing project, Suckface, was Stossel’s first attempt at a feature-length production, and received much press in local papers, on Vancouver Television, and in such publications as Playback and Variety magazine, while gaining cult-status among music fans all over the world.

In 2004, Stossel was awarded VideoFact and Factor Grant to produce and direct “Take Me Out”, a music video for Canadian rock legends and Grammy Award-winners, 54-40. Ken Wilbur of the Integral Institute called the video “a genuine piece of art”, and the clip has been played across Canada on MuchMoreMusic.

Her most recent writing credits include Story Editor on Solo, staring Jon Voight and Cary Elwes, and Meet the Devil, currently in pre-production at MovieCentral.

At the moment, Stossel is completing post-production on Buddy, El Ballistico & the Minibike, her latest feature, due for release in summer 2006; she will then begin production on “Pastures of Heaven”, a music video for Canadian recording artist Ridley Bent.
